Our Weekend and Candle Making...

I swear the weekends seem to fly by faster and faster every month. And Mondays are always a little sad we miss Jason when he goes back to work. But we did have another fun weekend, we try to cram as much as we can in those two days especially when the weathers is nice. Saturday the three of us took a trip to Round Top to do some antique shopping. We have talked about going for years. This weekend it was a smaller show but in April they have a bigger show so I can't wait to go back. I'm slightly obsessed with the HGTV show fixer upper (thanks to my friend Christine for introducing me to this show) her style is such my style so I got some ideas from the show and was hoping to find some things in Round Top. I did get a couple of things and once they're fixed up I can't wait to share.

On the way home we stopped for dinner and margaritas.... Charlee and her daddy were having lots of fun together.

You like her homemade glasses???

And this picture... I couldn't stop looking at it, her little eyes are closed...oh my gosh, way too sweet.

Sunday was one of our friends birthday so the grandparents babysat and we had a Sunday Funday. I do love these girls!!!

So a few weeks ago I saw this pin on candle making, and thought why not, I love candles so much but they can get expensive, plus when making your own you can buy pure soy wax so they burn clean. Once I ordered all of my supplies, I started making them. It was actually pretty easy and I love the way they turned out. And they smell great too. I ordered oil, but I also had this oil from the body shop and since I love this smell so much I decided to use it in one of my candles. So I really think you can use any oil you want as long as you use the right amount.

So I seriously just got chills the preview for the SERIES finale of Parenthood just came on. If you don't watch this show....I can't recommend it enough it's so amazing and heart warming, it's definitely a feel good cry every week. Jason and I have watched it from the beginning six seasons ago and I'm just so sad this Thursday I have to say bye to the Braveman family :(

And to end on a happy note one of my great friends started a blog, she is one of those people that keeps you laughing and is always dressed so cute I don't know how she keeps up with fashion and a five month old, but she does it flawlessly. Her blog is funny and creative.... Love it and her!

Playing at the mall

We took some time last week to play with daddy. I am knee deep in this organizing the house project I got myself into....haha. Who knew we could accumulate soooo much junk. I hope to get through this project soon and share. While at the mall we took Charlee into the Disney store, this was her first time and she was amazed to say the least.

She also did a little shoe shopping. She has all kinds of fashionable shoes, but we decided she needed some that were for walking so we visited stride rite and she picked one of each ;). We actually ended up with these shoes from the boys side because I thought they were cuter than the girls.

These two melt my heart.

And on our way home my day was made... I seriously shrilled with excitement when I saw they were putting a Homegoods right by me, no more driving 30 minutes to get to one!!!!!

Pigtails and dog beds.... my girl my heart

And I actually sat down to make some valentines headbands, which is so fun for me I can't wait to get them on Charlee.

What a fun weekend

We are still celebrating Christmas over here! We actually went to Dallas this weekend to have Christmas with my family. We have never had it so late but with everyone's work, vacation, etc. schedules this was the first weekend we could all get together. Car rides for us have never been easy, Charlee is not one of those babies that just falls asleep every time she is in the car...nope she hates it! She did pretty good this time only a little crying. Thank God for YouTube nursery rhymes. It's always fun getting together with my family and Charlee loves her cousins. Plus we are getting a new brother my lil sis got engaged over the holidays...so weddings talk is always fun! And you can't go wrong with chicken spaghetti and drinking all day...

Charlee got a new teepee we put it together when we got home and she was in love. She kept running in and out cracking up. I'm not sure if I love the color when Charlee picked this one out ;) and sent it to her grandparents it looked like the pink was a lot lighter online. I may exchange it for a solid one so it can go in her room or playroom for many years and match whatever we have going on.

Charlee also got books which of course she loved and new shoes they are the little walking shoes with the squeakers, it was the cutest thing when we put them on her and she started walking she was a little scared she couldn't figure out where the noise was coming from. Then she loved them and kept walking around to hear her new shoes. Her furry brother loves squeaky toys more than anything in the world so he was following her around trying to figure out where the toy was.

Dancing...my girl can dance...lol her big cousin was showing her his moves and she was doing her best to keep up.

Hope you had a great weekend!

Charlee's Nursery

I loved decorating Charlees nursery so much I thought I would share it!

As soon as we found out we were pregnant I was so excited to decorate the nursery. And then decorating for a girl... I was in heaven! I had it all pictured in my mind and it was definitely a labor of love. I was so fortunate my parents gave me a rocker, it was actually the rocker my dad bought my mom when they found out they were pregnant with me. And we used my childhood dresser. They both needed to be redone and thanks to my mother in law they turned out great. So we were able to spend our money in other areas of the room. I decided to go with this Jenny Lind crib because it seemed soft and sweet to me which is what I wanted for her room. For her name it took several trips to different fabric stores to find the right fabric to make the letters for her name.

In the closet we added an additional shelf and hanging rack to add more storage. I use big glass jars and baskets to keep it all organized. Overall I couldn't be more thrilled with how her nursery turned out and I think she loves her little space too.

Our Weekend and things we love...

This weekend was a rough one for us, both the Ravens and the Cowboys lost....sad days here. We stayed in the whole weekend with a warm fire. And my little nugget played all weekend with her daddy. Saturday we had some friends and family over to watch football. And Sunday we were extremely lazy. Which makes for a great weekend in my book.

There are so many things I come across and try so the things that we actually love are worth sharing :)!

Every holiday is worth dressing up for and adding a little flare around the house. This dress from old navy is too cute and perfect for valentines day. And it's on sale. I also love the chair backs from Pottery Barn kids they have them for every holiday. They are so cute and you can add your little ones name. And they can go from high chair to big kid chair!

Those were my valentines loves and now on to things that I'm just loving right now! I have used meyers soaps for awhile and just picked up the multi purpose cleaner and I love it, it smells SO good. With the weather being so cold we have had a fire going non stop! These logs are great because they don't produce a lot of smoke or smell. I actually use the HEB brand but couldn't find a picture. So this bib... Well Charlee has decided to take all of her bibs off Velcro, snap, no matter what she rips it right off and then all of her clothes are stained so this little one is like a shirt that ties so she can't get it off...yay! Some of our friends gave Charlee this book. You put your finger in and move the little piggy, she thinks it's hilarious. Candles, what's not to love, I love having candles burning in my house all of the time and the bath and body works ones are great and on sale right now! And last but not least my new shoes. I have loved these for awhile from JCrew and they were originally $85 but are on sale now with an extra 40% off so I got them for $35..... Makes me love them even more!

Have a great week!!!

Bath time is fun time!

This week has been a rough one, I have been under the weather all week. Jason actually ended up staying home Monday to take care of Charlee. You know those commercials I think they are NyQuil, the ones where the parent is sick and goes into the babies room and says I'm going to take the day off... Haha, that's how I felt this week. Charlee hasn't felt great either and it's supposed to stay cold and nasty here all weekend. Looks like we will spend lots of time inside. The one thing that helps is twinning with my girl!

So now on to what this blog is about...BATH TIME, Charlee has always loved bath time and we have figured out what she loves and what we love, so... I figured I could share our favorites!

I have used Aveeno products on her since she was a few months old. I started with others but she started getting a little eczema so my pediatrician recommended it and we have not had any skin issues since. The pediatrician said that some of the other baby products just weren't moisturizing enough. We have also used the california baby products and she does good with those as well, no matter what body wash we use she gets lathered up in the lotion every night! I'm sure everyone has hooded towels they are the best and target makes the cutest little animal ones.

And on to Charlees bath favorites.... She loves loves her books and this includes bath books! She is also a fan of the boon bath toys, she loves the little foam like ones that stick to the sides of the tub (mostly for chewing on) and the little creatures she likes seeing the water come out of their little holes.

And last but not least.....my favorites! The skip hop kneeler is a must for me. It is super padded and definitely make your life easier. The grippy dots are great for helping Charlee to not slide everywhere, there are a million different ones out there, I choose to go with these because I'm crazy and they matched all of her toys, at first I wanted little frogs or ducks but they clashed with other bath toys....lol! The boon drain cover is great for protecting your baby if your drain is raised like ours. It stays for the most part but there are times where I have to replace it over the drain during bath time. The faucet cover is more of a cute thing for me and maybe when Charlee is older and tries touching the faucet it will protect her.

There are all kinds of products out there that are supposed to test the water temperature, like little ducks, or even the munchkin grippy dots, but I haven't found any of those to be very accurate and I'm always so nervous I check it like 15 times before I put Charlee in.

One more picture. Storage of all these bath things :)! We had a towel rack above the tub that of course only had pretty towels hanging from it so it was never used. We decided to take it down and add these shelves. They have come in pretty handy we have all of her bath stuff there and now we actually use the space.

This picture was from one of Charlees first baths, we knew we were in trouble when she gave us the eyes!

Hope these little tips help make bath time fun for you and you little nugget!

Have a great weekend, and stay warm!!!
