Our weekend and more Home Projects...

It was a beautiful weekend here, I am so excited for this weather we love being outside....our little munchkin especially. We were planning on going to Dallas this weekend but since we ended up staying in town we had a free weekend to do more projects!!! We started Saturday out with a trip to torchys for breakfast, their queso is the bomb. One of the most exciting parts to the weekend was getting a new TV stand. We have had ours for several years and I just didn't feel like it went with our home anymore. We were able to sell it on Craig's list so that was awesome to have money to put towards the new one.

So as you can see it's not set up we are changing cable peeps so I am not dealing with all of those crazy cords until that's done...ha

We also changed out the faucet in the kitchen, since our island is such a focal point in the kitchen and really the living room too it made a huge difference.

We have also been working on turning our old goodwill office table into a patio table with a cooler in the center. It's getting so close to being finished. I stained and varnished it then this weekend Jason cut the hole in the middle. So this week I plan to finish it up. I can't wait to get it finished.

We planted tomatoes in March and they are looking really good I can't wait to eat home grown tomatoes. If you love tomatoes like we do there is such a difference in home grown and store bought. As you can tell I have been focusing a lot on our backyard. I want a nice space to let Charlee just run around because every morning starts with her saying "side" like a million times until we go outside. Hopefully we can enjoy it before it gets too hot.

I ordered this cute little garden cart for Charlee I know she is going to love it. It's listed most places for $59 but I searched aroun and found it for $39 yay!!!

This chick LOVES her some Doc McStuffins. I think she is close enough!

Hope you are having a great week!

DIY Growth Chart

I've seen similar growth charts all over Pinterest and Pottery Barn Kids so I decided to make it a DIY project and it turned out pretty good if I do say so myself...lol! The hardest part for me was measuring out and drawing the lines on the ruler. I bought the wood from Home Depot. I had them cut it down to six feet, but you could do any lenght.

Then I stained the wood. (I made one for my best friends little boy for his first birthday)!

I used a tape measure and a paint pen for the lines. Then I used a stencil, paint, and a sponge brush to add the numbers.

Once it was dry I hung it in her playroom. I ended up just putting a screw in the top and bottom so I knew it was secure and safe. Now I just need to start marking!!! At first I was going to mark in pink and then do a different color for any future babies, but it's so "clean" I thought different bright colors may be to much, so now I'm thinking a gold paint pen may look good?!? Still deciding on this. Excuse the picture the lighting in her playroom stinks.....which is why I'm trying to convenience my husband we need a new light fixture!!!

And to end our Friday on a sweet note a few pictures of my munchkin.

Jason's Birthday Weekend

We had such fun weekend even though our crawfish boil was rained out... With the weather predicting rain all week we made the decision to not do crawfish because you pretty much have to be outside to cook and eat it. We decided to stick with the "sea food" theme so I made boiled shrimp, crab cakes, and crab dip. And of course my sweet friends brought stuff. Then Jason wanted rice Krispy treats for his "cake", so I added little cake pop sticks and ribbon to those and called it a day. Ohhh and I also made this Cajun lemonade I found the recipe on Pinterest and it was super yummy. I will definitely make it again. How on earth did I forget to take pictures?!? I have no clue but I didn't get one picture all day..... I was so sad. Well this is the only picture I got...haha I made these little bags and put a napkin, silverware, and a wet wipe in. We partied until after 12 am......way past our bed time. Another fun birthday under our belt.

Charlee was my shopping buddy for the party on Friday. This was her first time in this type of cart, she seemed to like it.

So funny toddler story.... Her grandparents bought her this little dancing bunny for Easter. On Easter she was loving on him until we pushed the button and he started singing and dancing she chunked him about 5 feet and ran to me terrified. So I got him out again the other day to see if maybe she changed her mind.....nope still terrified. But it was hilarious she dropped some of her snacks and would not get close enough to pick them up. Then while he was dancing he turned around and when his back was to her she ran up grabbed the snacks and ran off it was the funniest thing ever.

And we ended our weekend with a bang. Game of Thrones is back on!!! Happy Monday, have a fun week.

Easter Weekend

Happy Monday..... We are all dragging this morning which seems to happen after a holiday weekend, but so worth. We don't have much time to drag around here because we have Jason's birthday crawfish boil this weekend. Which I'm super excited for, but have tons to do....I feel anyways. Our long weekend started out with our first trip to the big antique show in Round Top, which was crazy. I knew it would be big, but it was nuts thousands of vendors and thousands of people it took us an hour and a half to drive 10 miles....yikes. We got a few things but learned alot so we will be prepared for the next show in October. Charlee did amazing, she had a sweet set up in her wagon with a movie and snacks plus there was plenty to look at, she just chilled then layed her head down when she was done. I ordered this ipad cover and it worked perfect.

I had a feeling seeing the bunny may not go so well. I felt so bad basically throwing her at the bunny and running for a few good pictures....sweet memories though right?!?

I love putting her little basket together and since all she really cared about was the $1 plastic eggs I'm glad I got her mostly clothes and shoes ;)! She woke up and when I put her down she was so excited, she ran straight to her basket and started digging the eggs out.

And then she got stuck in her basket.....lol

After church we went to brunch then to Jason's parents for a little egg hunt. She ran outside picked up one egg and was over it! But she loves being outside so watching her run around in her sweet little dress was worth it all. I love this girl more than anything and am so truly blessed to have her.

Hope you and your family had a sweet little Easter weekend!
