It's Monday again...

And here we are again another Monday and it's a cold one, ice on the roads, school closures.... yikes. At least Friday and Saturday were nice enough to get out for a little bit. Which is nice because we get cabin fever during the week. And Charlee loves being outside.

Charlee had a little play date last week with her sweet little friend Liv... well I don't really know if I can call it a play date when we went to starbucks more for us, but hey they got outside and loved that.

Charlee has been struggling with sleeping this past week she has been waking up a couple times a night, which is not like her. I'm thinking it's her teeth hopefully she will go back to sleeping like a champ soon. Thursday night she just would not sleep no matter what I tried and I was so tired, but then she started loving on me and I couldn't get enough of her sweetness.

Saturday night we went out for a friends birthday, we tried to take a selfie before we left...it was a bit of a fail...lol. Jason and I had a lot of fun it had been awhile since we went out like that and I realized real quick I can't hang with the cool kids anymore! We both felt horrible Sunday which is no fun especialy with a little one running around. We were lucky enough to have Granma stay and help in the morning...thank goodness!

Saturday I also spent some time making applesauce for Charlee I saw this recipe on the today show awhile ago and it's soooo easy. I just put it in these squeeze pouches and freeze it. I make a ton at once because she loves it and it is a great go to when your out running errands. This time I also added cinnamon to some of the apples and it was a hit. Anything that is healthy and an easy go to is a must in our book.

Stay warm and have a great week... xoxo

Things we are loving

I am always looking for new things to try and recently I decided I really needed to start taking care of my skin as I am getting older. I have always had "problem" skin and now I want to prevent (as much as I can anyway) wrinkles and aging skin. All I have done in the past was wash and moisturizer. Now I'm trying and loving some new products.

Arcona clarifying pads I just discovered this brand and I am really liking it, there are some other products in this line that I want to try, but since they are a little pricy I am going to space them out! These make my face feel so clean and refreshed. It's amazing how after washing my face how much makeup these still get off.

Sugar lip polish this scrub is great because my lips are always chapped and after this they feel so incredible soft.

Glam glow the girl at sephora said I would love this when I bought the small one to try it out and she was right. I have actually been using it as a moisturizer at night and my face is feeling so soft and it has not broken me out. I have to be very careful about this with my sensative skin.

Coal-Conut I have been reading lots of great reviews on activated charcoal for face masks and teeth whitening. I honestly just got mine in and can't wait to use it. My teeth have started getting very sensative to crest white strips and I know you aren't supposed to use those all of the time so I thought this would be a great all natural alternative. It is also supposed to be a great mask to minimize pores. I will keep you posted on this product.

Eye dew this was something I really needed I have not been using anything for my eyes and I know I needed to start. This feels so great and doesn't irritate my eyes. Again with my sensative skin some eye products burn and really bother me.

And now onto a few things Charlee is loving right now...

Charlee loves her babies so much and she actually takes these bottles and feeds them, it's the sweetest thing. We just discovered she really likes Sesame Street so it's great for car rides. And you know I can never pass up a cute festive onesie!

I let Charlee down in a store for the first time the other day and we discovered she loves Hobby Lobby as much as her mommy does.

We had a family wedding a few weekends ago and Charlee was so good she actually slept through the whole reception on her Grammy.

And now the last thing I am totally obsessed with right now is the HGTV show fixxer upper and her store magnolia market! If you like rustic farm like decorations you will love this store. I can't wait for my stuff to get here.

Have a great Friday!

Our Valentines Weekend

We had a fun weekend it was especially nice because Jason was off Monday...three day weekends are the best! Valentine's Day we didn't really do much we took Charlee to brunch then we went to Home Depot, then home to work on some projects romantic I know ;)... Our garage was driving us crazy so we got out there and organized it now I don't feel so stressed when I go to get in my car.

I bought Jason a few things for valentines, but these little collar stays were so cute, I just loved them. They are from Etsy.

Sunday we took Charlee to the park, but since the weather wasn't that great we decided to go to Dave and Busters, she was amazed with all of the lights and sounds. We had a good time as well.

Since daddy was home yesterday we took a little family trip to Krispy Kreme, thank goodness it's not that close to us or I would be in big trouble. Charlee was so excited, this chick eats healthy all of the time so on the weekends we let her have doughnuts and she of course LOVES them.

Hope you had a great Valentines weekend!

Happy almost Valentines

Everything is so exciting with a little one, even Valentines Day! Last year Charlee was only two months old so we didn't do much, but this year I can't wait to make her heart shaped everything. We got her a little dress and cell phone, she is obsessed with phones so I'm hoping she will like this one... I know it's not as cool as an iPhone but it may keep her busy for a minute?!? And of course she had to have a valentines headband!

Dress Phone

I try to make a little something for Jason's team each holiday, I saw this recipe and it seemed easy and yummy and it turned out so pretty. And very addicting, I'm glad it was gone this morning!

We started this morning out with heart shaped waffles. I can't wait to see what else I can turn into hearts...lol

Happy Valentines Eve, have a fun weekend with your loves!

Sleeping baby...

Charlee has not always been the best sleeper. And looking back I know so much of that was probably me :). She had sever acid reflux and could not sleep flat on her back so the rock n play sleeper was a life saver for us, she seriously sleep in this until she was 5 or so months, basically she out grew it. My husband gives me a hard time because I HAD to have the pottery barn bassinet. It is just so beautiful and I have loved it for years way before I was even pregnant. I think Charlee slept in it a total of 5 days....haha. But it's so pretty and who knows when we have baby number two they may love it!!!

Charlee's stages of sleeping...

When she finally made it to her room, she was ready and she started sleeping through the night pretty quick.....we were so thankful because the cry out method just wasn't for me. Don't get me wrong we had to let her cry a little a few nights but not for long or I would have to go get her my heart couldn't handle it and neither could Jason's. She is now a great sleeper 11 to 12 hours a night. We do have a routine that we have stuck to since she was itty bitty... Bath, milk, book, lots of kisses, then bed. And she loves all of her bedtime things. She has had the baby Einstein aquarium since she was a few weeks old and she LOVES it, she will now sit up and turn it on then go back to sleep! As soon as I felt comfortable letting her sleep with anything in the crib she has slept with these security blankets, they are little and breathable and she holds it all night long, and has to take it out with her in the morning. The sound machine is a must for us she's always had noise going and I think it drowns out other stuff. I also like this one because it goes all night long, no automatic shut off. And the wubby pacifiers are great because if she loses it in the night the bigger animal makes it's easier for her to find. We have also been using this humidifier through these cold winter months. These are things that seem to work for Charlee, she loves them all and so do we!

And now it's time for some fun pictures of my girl......

It's been chilly this week so we wore our matching furry boots!

Just working on the phone.

Oops... trying to get that one specific toy and she is all in.

This week we started a new morning routine. We hang out in bed when's she first wakes up.... Mama has her coffe and Charlee has her Cheerios, we snuggle and watch the today show... It's a great start to my morning!

Happy Friday!

Our crazy week...

Last week was a little crazy, Jason had a work conference Tuesday through Friday, so I was determined to finish organizing. So I drank wine and organized ever night after Charlee went to bed!

I used a ton of plastic tubs for under the sink, my shoes, and in the linen closet. We don't have a lot of storage so cleaning out and making things more accessible was a must. Plus I feel like if everything has a place I will put it back there. I got most of my tubs at target. I went to the dollar store first, but target actually had them for .94 and they seemed a little more sturdy. I also went to homegoods for the fabric storage containers I used in the linen closet. And of course I labeled everything, it really is useful and it looks clean, you can buy an inexpensive label maker at walmart or target.

There is still a lot crammed in this space but I feel like it looks a little more organized and I'm not so stressed when I open the doors.

As I was cleaning and organizing under my sink I realized I needed somewhere for my jewelry. I used this frame that I had from Charlee's birthday party, at her party I used it to hang her monthly pictures so it already had the wire. I just added burlap to the back, I would still like to add something that I could stick my studs into, but overall it turned out cute and it's functional.

So I love finding new beers to try and this one was a win. One of my friends introduced me to Abita last summer, they have a seasonal strawberry flavor that is my favorite, I saw this one the other day and it's pretty yummy if you like grapefruit like I do!

And of course I had this little beauty helping me all week...

And keeping me on my toes!

Her first sloppy joe was a hit.

She was so excited that the weather was nice and we were able to get outside and run around.

Since Jason was so busy last week we had a very low key weekend, the weather was yucky Saturday so we stayed in all day we only got out for a trip to costco. Sunday we did a lot of the same, stayed in and relaxed. Of course we watched the Super Bowl, Charlee was in her festive outfit....can you believe how little she was last years Super Bowl! Ahhhh love this girl.

The halftime show was her favorites, she brought her babies along to watch.

We had yummy turkey chili for dinner. This is such an easy recipe. It makes a ton and freezes great.

1.5 lbs turkey meat
3 cans bushes chili beans
2 large cans diced tomatoes
1 can rotel
1 package HEB chili mix
A few pickled jalapeƱos (optional)
Brown the turkey meat and then throw it all in the crock pot and cook on high for 3 hours or low for 5-6. Top with cheese and enjoy.
We also had cornbread, which I cheated and used a box mix, but I think the key to making cornbread even better is adding about a third of a cup of butter into the cooking dish melt in the oven and then pour that into the mix and pour it all back into the dish and bake. You can't go wrong with butter!

Have a great week and Happy Monday!!!
