Enjoying our Christmas Gifts and rambling....

I know it's New Years Eve, but.... We have had such a great time with our little family of three enjoying our Christmas gifts, so I had to share. Charlee got a wagon from her grandparents and is loving it, amigo thought it was pretty awesome too.

I can't thank my sister enough for getting Jason this amazing onesie. He sat around watching TV in this all day.... He seriously already had this mask and threw it on for fun.

We decided to leave our coffee table out of the living room for a little while because Charlee has bumped her head on it and this way she can run around a little bit and hopefully we don't have to worry as much, we have tile throughout so I'm always on my toes anyways.

We are big football fans in this house so we spent Sunday with our fingers crossed for all the cards to fall right for the Ravens to make the playoffs...and they did!!! Of course the Cowboys were already in. I grew up a Cowboys fan and my husband is a Ravens fan, I cheer for the Ravens with him most of the time. We made a deal when we found out we were pregnant that we would only buy Charlee Ravens clothes unless the Cowboys made the playoffs, because he didn't think the Cowboys would make the playoffs anytime soon....time to shop!
We are headed to a friends house tonight for a New Years eve party. Several of us with babies are all spending the night, which makes it much easier to enjoy the night. I can't wait to get dressed up and hang out with all of our friends.
Hope everyone has a safe and amazing new year. I can't wait to see what 2015 brings!!!

Christmas time...

I'm always sad every year when Christmas is over. It is so crazy how much planning and preparation go into making sure it is a special day for everyone, and of course I wouldn't have it any other way! Last year Charlee was only three weeks old on Christmas so opening her gifts was a little different. As hard as it is to see how fast she is growing it is so much fun to watch her grow. I think she is at such a fun age right now. She gives hugs and kisses and gets so excited.

We had family over to our house. My little sister and her boyfriend came in town and Jason's family all came over. We went to church on Christmas Eve and then had pizza, a cheese plate, and a hot chocolate bar. We have done pizza the past few years and it's perfect it's easy and requires no cooking or cleaning! Jason's family tradition is to open all of the gifts on Christmas Eve and then Santa gifts Christmas morning. My family has the pajama tradition. Since we were babies my parents gave us matching Jammie's on Christmas Eve. That tradition is still going strong and I loved picking out Charlees Jammie's. After Charlee went to bed we played the game of things, which is like cards against humanity, but you write in your own answers and with our crew it's always interesting!

I couldn't wait for Charlee to wake up Christmas morning to see her sweet face. She was excited to see her toys but was more excited that we had several dogs here for Christmas! Santa got her a little piggy to ride, a tea set, and Snow White and the seven dwarfs little people. Do you remember those my sister and I were talking about that, we had a bus and a Ferris wheel for our little people. Those and the B fun keys were definitely her favorites. Her daddy let her take her keys to bed Christmas Eve and I couldn't figure out what I was hearing on her monitor in the morning.... She was definitely spoiled by everyone this Christmas and she loved every minute of it so much so that napping was a no go!

We decided to do a Southern Christmas dinner this year, we made wings and dips for appetizer, then we had fried chicken, mashed potatoes, green beans, Mac n cheese, sweet potato rolls, peach cobbler, and banana pudding. Everything was soooo good. My sis did a great job in the kitchen!

We had such a fun Christmas, watching Charlees reactions to everything was amazing!

Last weekend before Christmas...

Last week I spent some time baking a few dozen Christmas cookies for my husband to take to work and for us to give to our friends. I made chocolate with Andes mints, chai eggnog, gingerbread cookies, and dipped pretzels. Of course I had to have a little drink while baking. I don't normally like shiner, but this Christmas one is fruity and yummy!

This weekend was so much fun we went to a Christmas party with friends! Then we took Charlee to look at Christmas lights, we went to one house that has a great light show set to music and they had Santa... she loved the lights, Santa not so much! That was her second time to see Santa, the first time went much better, she didn't even cry!

I'm so excited for Christmas I can't believe it's here. It is also so amazing that Jason (my hubby) will be off a few days, Charlee and I love when he is home with us.

One more festive event, I can't get enough.... We went to Elf the musical a few weeks ago, it was so fun! I LOVE LOVE the movie I could watch it everyday so this was a blast.

My love for Christmas

There is no better time of the year.... I am obsessed (to say the least) with Christmas. I love the feeling in the air, I can't help but smile as I blare my Christmas music! Of course there is nothing better than the true meaning of Christmas. I cry ever year during Christmas Eve service because I feel overwhelmed with how blessed I am. I am also so in love with all of the traditions!!

I wish I could decorate every inch of my house. My husband and I both LOVE the movie Christmas Vacation, but I still have to beg for him to put up the outside lights...haha! I am in the process of making my grocery list, why is it that at Christmas I want to make everything on my pinterest boards. I love having food everywhere there is nothing better than snacking all day before and after your Christmas meal. I still have a few Christmas gifts to buy, but baby girl is done and of course that's what really matters!

Charlee LOVES taking her felt ornaments off her little tree.

A little bit of Christmas in our home...

I saw this pallet tree on Pinterest and loved it! The stump at the bottom is supposed to be cut in half so it is flat against the pallet, but when I asked my husband to cut it for me he said he would need an axe to cut it in half ! With the stump being so small it would seem like it would need to be a pretty exact cut and since I have never seen my husband use and axe I decided it's probably better to leave it as is:)...

We went to the trail of light with some friends and their babies a few nights ago. I of course loved it Charlee wasn't as impressed as I would have thought, but most of that was because it was past her bedtime. She did enjoy looking at the lights when she wasn't trying to go to sleep.
Hope you are enjoying all the Christmas festivities!

Charlee's First Birthday Party

Charlees first birthday came with so many emotions. On one hand I was SO excited to plan her pink and gold party, and on the other hand I couldn't believe my baby was already one year! I got so much inspiration from Pinterest and other bloggers that my head was overfilled with ideas. I really just wanted a special party for my little girl (first birthdays are definitely for the parents ;)) and I think she had a blast. She loved opening her gifts, she would hug her presents and squeal with excitement. However the smash cake she was not a fan of, she liked the taste but did not want to get her hands dirty so actually getting in and eating it was a no go! We did lots of sweets and of course beer, wine, and champagne for the adults.

We were so blessed to have a house full of friends and family to celebrate our girls birthday!

Decorating this cake was so easy and I was so happy with how it came out!

One of my best friends made this picture frame it was a big hit...thanks Christine!

By the end of the night this little nugget was so tired she used her banner as a foot rest!

What a fun day, I'm so in love with this little girl. I love doing fun things for her and this day was so special!
